1. Mitsuwa Plaza
595 River Rd
Edgewater, NJ 07020
(201) 941-9113
KHS takes trips to Mitsuwa every other year or so. We do a scavenger hunt in which students have to read clues describing items in Japanese and then try to figure out what the items are, where they are located throughout the Plaza and how much they cost. I count this as a quiz grade and give extra credit to the first team with the most correct answers. Also there are tours available which can be in Japanese or English. You should call a few weeks in advance and let them know that you are coming. After the activities, students have free time to look around, have lunch, or go shopping. Students really seem to like this trip.

2. Metropolitan Museum of Art- From October 21st 2009, the MET is hosting the largest collection of Samurai swords outside of Japan, many of which are on loan from the Japanese government. The Met. also hosts an extensive permanent Japanese collection, and is available to host tours for schools, (by reservation only). Up to fifty students are allowed in a group.

3. The Japan Society, NYC- please add details
